I was born in 1995 and raised in Virginia. When I started my career, I quickly realized how important it was for me to be doing something I enjoy and find fulfilling. After spending a few years working in customer service roles, and not finding my passion, I set my sights on more technical jobs. I have always been enthusiastic about technology and started teaching myself programming at 13 years of age. Pursuing a career working with technology seemed like the obvious choice.
I was fortunate enough to land an entry-level contract working with Netsphere in datacenters just pulling cables, connecting and labeling fiber optics, and other various work order fulfillment. I loved every day of it, and started noticing an overwhelming need to understand these machines better and how these massive facilities are built. I would ask my boss questions constantly, and luckily for me he would always be more than willing to talk in-depth about all of it, too.
After a few years, I left my role at Netsphere to pursue a tech career in California, and to be closer to my family. The transition wasn't easy, but after several months of working short-term contracts, I was again extremely fortunate to have the good help of TEKSystems in securing what would go on to become my most successful role to date. The IT Infrastructure Builds team at Snapchat brought me on to clear up technical debt, develop new processes for managing data, and as a technician for any hands-on maintenance around the various campus offices in Los Angeles. My six-month contract was extended to 12-months and I continued putting my best foot forward and contributing as best I could to a team of highly skilled engineers.
At the 12-month mark my contract hadn't been renewed and I quickly found another job at HLW International, an architecture firm based out of New York. They needed an IT presence at their Los Angeles office and I was very successful in bringing forward new tools like Jira and a few custom scripts for Powershell to manage Active Directory/Office365.
It wasn't very long before my colleagues at Snapchat had reached out and offered me another contract, this time for much longer. I have been working with the Infrastructure Engineering team since February 2021 and continuing my learning journey in my new role as a Senior Infrastructure Technician. I'm given a lot of opportunities to work on complex coding problems, while also keeping my mind sharp with every day maintenance and upkeep of a fleet of over a thousand devices that our team manages across the globe.

Utilizing Google Apps Script, I developed an internal tool called 'BASE' to centralize equipment order management, rack elevations, and site workbooks for my team.
Originally a simple set of 'sed' commands, this script evolved into an interactive GUI for generating configurations for multiple device types, running pre-defined SNMP scans, and performing login verifications.
